The What House? Awards 2008 will offer a rare opportunity for entrants and attendees to pitch questions directly to Shadow Housing Minster Grant Shapps.

A live debate will be held during this year’s What House? Awards ceremony on 21st November, sponsored by smartnewhomes.com. Globespan Media’s Editorial Director Rupert Bates will put audience questions directly to Shapps, who in turn will have the chance to outline the Conservative’s housing market and home building strategy, to the industry.

Rupert Bates, Editorial Director of Globespan Media, comments: “This question and answer session provides the perfect opportunity to find out what the Conservative Party is made of, and how they would help to steer the house building trade out of the current downturn. While the awards will continue to celebrate the best of new homes across the UK, this year’s ceremony will also tackle the serious business of the necessary recovery within the industry.

David Bexon, Managing Director of smartnewhomes.com, comments: “The What House? Awards provides the ideal forum for Grant Shapps to address the industry and outline the Conservative’s plan for coping with the many challenges currently facing the industry. It is a rare opportunity for concerned individuals such as developers, architects and surveyors, as well as the media, to put their questions direct to the Shadow Housing Minister, and hear the opposition’s take on events and their plans for a resolution, first-hand.”

The 2008 What House? Awards will be held on 21st November 2008 from 12 noon at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.

For more information or to book tickets, email Jo Walsh-Pickerill on jwp@globespanmedia.com, phone 020 7002 8300. Those attending the awards can email their question for Grant Shapps to Rupert Bates - rb@globespanmedia.com
