Househunters looking to move into a bigger property can take advantage of the government's Homebuy Direct scheme in Doncaster.
Redrow Homes is offering the opportunity to move into its Danum St Giles development in the town for as little as £146,995, which is made even more affordable through the scheme.
It enables people to pay for just 70 per cent of the property's value up front, with the remainder repaid over a 25-year period.
Stressing it is not only first-time buyers who can take advantage of top offers such as this, Pauline Turnbull, sales director for Redrow Homes, encouraged everyone to get in on the act.
"Families in need of extra space could also make a life changing step up to a bigger and better home for a fraction of the normal cost," she urged.
Doncaster recently elected a new mayor to replace Martin Winter, who has been succeeded by Peter Davies, an English Democrat.
