Deposit Match Is The Key To Moving Up The Property Ladder
The current lack of affordable mortgages and the substantial deposits being sought by lenders is forcing many homeowners to put their next move on hold. Recent figures show that 49 per cent of homeowners* need more space but can’t take that necessary step up the property ladder because they don’t have a large enough deposit and can’t afford the higher mortgage payments. However a new scheme from national house builder Taylor Wimpey may offer the perfect solution for couples and families who have outgrown their current home.
First-Timers Get A Kick Start With Deposit Match
The current lack of affordable mortgages and rising property prices in recent years means more than one million young people* are moving back in with their parents in a bid to save money. Dubbed the ‘baby boomerangers’ because of their inability to leave home for good, one in five 18 to 24 year olds and an estimated 440,000 25 to 35 years olds have admitted they have either returned to the family home or put their plans to move out on hold as they try and save for a deposit. But a new idea from national house builder Taylor Wimpey may be the solution.

George Wimpey’s Madison Mews development in Hayle is currently enjoying strong sales with house hunters snapping up homes at the development. Madison Mews is celebrating the sale of 6 new homes in the last month alone, showing some of the ‘green shoots’ reported by market experts in recent weeks.
Benefits of Buying New as Confidence in the Property Market Returns
Buying a brand new home could prove a shrewd move as recovery in the property market heralds the return of gazumping and sealed bids. Estate agents this week claimed gazumping – where buyers lose out at the last minute to a higher bid – is back in some areas of the second hand market. Sealed bids are also being used for some properties where demand is high.

With half of the apartments now sold at its The Parks development in Bracknell Forest, leading house-builder George Wimpey is urging househunters to get in quick if they want to snap up a new home at the popular Bracknell location.

A total of eighteen homes have been sold in twenty weeks and just 20 of the development’s stylish one and two-bedroom apartments remain for sale, some of which are eligible for purchase for just 70% of the asking price under the Government’s HomeBuy Direct scheme.

The initiative allows quick-off-the-mark first-time buyers to secure a ‘Cranbourne Court’ two-bedroom design from as little as £122,496* – a contemporary-styled apartment to suit couples, individuals, young families or those looking to downsize from a larger property.

It features a large living room with balcony leading through to a well-equipped kitchen, a master bedroom with en-suite, a second double bedroom and a main bathroom off the private entrance hallway.

Like all new homes at The Parks, each of the apartments enjoys a high standard specification, including central heating, double glazing and a fitted kitchen including built-in oven, hob and hood.

HomeBuy Direct is part of a range of special incentives George Wimpey provides for its customers and gives qualifying customers the chance to receive a five-year interest-free loan covering up to 30% of the purchase price of their new home.

Alternatively, existing homeowners can receive assistance from George Wimpey to find a buyer for their current property, and have their estate agency fees paid.

Full details and the terms and conditions of each scheme are available by speaking to the Sales Executive at The Parks.

Bracknell is a modern and vibrant town with a pedestrianised shopping centre and a choice of cafes, bars and restaurants and £750m is currently being spent on the regeneration of its town centre, creating new leisure facilities, transport links and healthcare services. Homes are within easy reach of the centre and a choice of supermarkets.

Local schools have an excellent reputation, with pupils attaining results higher than the national average.

For commuters, in addition to excellent rail links, the M3 and M4 are a few minutes away by road.
