David Bexon, Managing Director of smartnewhomes.com, responds to the latest Communities & Local Government (CLG) Home Building Report:
“The second consecutive quarterly rise in housing starts is extremely welcome news for the housebuilding industry, and for those hoping to buy a new property. The latest figures reflect recent announcements that several of the UK’s major developers plan to press ahead with new schemes this year, and will go some way towards allaying the mounting concerns over an impending lack of supply.
“However, while things are now moving in the right direction, at nine per cent lower than last year’s suppressed figures, CLG’s stats offer a stark reminder of the progress still needed to meet the country’s housing requirements.”
