From today (October 1) developers with planning permissions granted until 30 September 2009 can extend their permissions in order to combat the effects of the recession which has seen projects being put on hold.

Liz Peace, chief executive of the British Property Federation (BPF) who campaigned for the change to apply to all developments, said: “We are very pleased the government has listened to our arguments and has made the measure to all developments regardless of their size.
