New
property investment is being made into public based schemes.
Greg Pitcher, deputy news editor of Construction News, commented on how important such projects are to the industry at the moment.
He said: "They're very important. The framework is very broadly scoped it's written in such a way that they can put a lot of different educational work through it."
Mr Pitcher highlighted that the Building Schools for and Future scheme is a competitive one, which is not just based upon price.
Initially there were 60 companies who put forward the pre-publication questionnaires, which was then reduced down to 22 after the initial stage and further more to 15.
On October 20th Partnerships for Schools announced the 15 firms which have been successful in obtaining a place on the £4 billion framework, for the building and designing of the learning facilities.
It is anticipated that there will be £500 million worth of contracts launched using this scheme in the first five months of the campaign, starting at the end of this year.
