A Bolton new homes development has become the latest to offer a national scheme designed to help first time buyers get a foot on property ladder.

George Wimpey Manchester is now offering the successful HomeBuy Direct scheme on a limited number of properties at its Millgate development on Crescent Road.

Under the scheme, two bedroom apartments are now being offered at the development from just £52,495.

But would-be buyers are also being reminded that the scheme is only available for a limited time and that contracts must be exchanged by Christmas.

HomeBuy Direct is a government-backed scheme aimed at helping purchasers with a household income of less than £60,000 afford the home they want, subject to eligibility and affordability checks*.

Under the scheme buyers are provided with an interest free equity loan for 30 per cent of the value of the property, co-funded by the Homes and Communities Agency and George Wimpey, helping first time buyers overcome the hurdles of high mortgage costs and larger deposits.

Regional sales and marketing director Anthony Mansfield said: “HomeBuy Direct has been hugely popular at the selected sites where we have introduced it and I’m delighted we can now add Millgate to that list.

“However the scheme does have a limited lifespan so potential purchasers need to get in touch with us as soon as possible to discuss their eligibility and the homes available under the scheme.”

Two stylish, contemporary apartment types are being offered at Millgate under the scheme, the Geneva and the Monaco. Both come complete with two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, bathroom and allocated parking space. Monaco apartment types also feature an en-suite bathroom to the master bedroom.

Millgate is located just outside Bolton town centre within easy reach of the town’s wide selection of High Street stores, shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.
