NHBC’s latest housebuilding statistics show a continued improvement in the UK housebuilding industry, with applications rising 4% from July to September 2009 compared to the same period last year.
Over the three months, NHBC received 24,136 applications to build new homes in the UK. Some regions have shown a marked improvement over the period, with applications in the North West rising 37%. All four countries making up the UK showed signs of recovery.
NHBC’s chief executive Imtiaz Farookhi said: “It is reassuring that NHBC’s figures show consistent improvement and that these positive signs extend across the UK.”
