Stop throwing your money away on rent! That’s what Taylor Wimpey North West is urging first time buyers to do after new research* reports that it’s now cheaper to buy a home than rent one.

Armed with this latest news, the house builder is urging first time buyers keen to get onto the property ladder to visit its three developments in Greater Manchester, Macintosh Mills, Joule Point and Millwood Grange, to find out more about how to make the property dream a reality.

Jason Newton, regional sales and marketing director, said: “We appreciate the difficulties facing first time buyers and understand the reality of owning their own home can seem like a distant dream. However, there are many factors pointing in their favour; including reduced house prices, low interest rates, an increase in competition and more willingness to lend from mortgage providers, as well as any financial assistance that Taylor Wimpey can provide. The fact that actually owning their own home rather than throwing away hard earned cash each month on rent must be incentive enough for first time buyers to come and talk to us to find out if we can help get them moving.”

Those looking to make the leap from tenant to homeowner will be able to take advantage of a range of financial schemes designed specifically with first time buyers in mind. One scheme, ideal for those who have been saving hard for a deposit include Deposit Match, where Taylor Wimpey will double the deposit put down (up to 10 per cent of the purchase price), in the form of an interest free loan.

At Macintosh Mills, an interest free equity loan is also available for up to 30 per cent of the value of the property, co-funded by the Homes and Communities Agency and Taylor Wimpey. First time buyers at Macintosh Mills can take advantage of this scheme and snap up a one bedroom apartment for just £96,600 (70 per cent of the original purchase price).

Macintosh Mills offers a stylish selection of one, two and three bedroom apartments, priced from only £138,000. Set in Macintosh Village, off Cambridge Street, the southern gateway to the remarkable transformation of Manchester City Centre, these homes are a superb example of the best in urban regeneration within Greater Manchester.

Joule Point is a collection of two bedroom apartments and three and four-bedroom homes in Pendlebury, close to Manchester city centre. Everyday facilities such as shops, doctors, dentists and schools are on the doorstep and prices start from only £107,950. Transport connections are second to none at the development with good train and bus links. For motorists junction 15 of the M60 ring road is approximately two miles away.

Offering something for everyone, Millwood Grange is a delightful development of three and four bedroom homes conveniently placed for access to Oldham, Middleton and Manchester further afield. Chadderton has everything you need for day to day living including shops, banks, a supermarket and a library. Nearby Oldham offers a variety of shops and two modern shopping malls with a traditional outdoor market. Prices start from £164,950
