There have been a few changes at George Wimpey Manchester’s Hey Mount development in Heywood. The housebuilder has finalised its plans for the new homes being built there, relaunched its stylish Cranage housetype and also introduced the HomeBuy Direct scheme at the development, with new homes being offered from just £62,995.

The newly approved plan is to build a range of two bedroom apartments and three and four bedroom houses at the development on Mount Street. In total there are six different types of new home available.

One of the housetypes, the Cranage, has been specifically redesigned for Hey Mount. The luxurious four bedroom three story townhouse now includes a well designed kitchen/dining room and a separate spacious lounge, which is great for families, complete with French doors that lead to private garden. The previous design included a combined lounge and dining area.

George Wimpey Manchester sales and marketing director Anthony Mansfield explained the change: “The Cranage redesign allows more living area space, ideal for families who enjoy spending time together at home. We have had many families visiting the development and we know this redesign will appeal to them.”

The Cranage 2 housetype, which it is now called, also features an en-suite bathroom to master bedroom and a family bathroom. The house comes complete with allocated parking space and is available from £145,995.

Meanwhile, George Wimpey has also introduced HomeBuy Direct at the development. Under the scheme, which is proving popular with first time buyers across the country, buyers are provided with an interest free equity loan for 30 per cent of the property, co-funded by the Homes & Communities Agency and George Wimpey.

Buyers do not need a deposit of their own to take advantage of the scheme.

HomeBuy Direct is aimed at helping purchasers with a household income of less than £60,000 afford the home they want subject to affordability checks.*

At Hey Mount the scheme is available on the Geneva, Lacy and Lyon apartment types.

The Geneva two bedroom apartment comes complete with stylish combined living room and dining room, a separate kitchen, a beautiful bathroom and allocated parking space. With HomeBuy Direct, a Geneva apartment can cost as little as £62,995.

Anthony Mansfield continued: “HomeBuy Direct is a fantastic scheme that helps potential first time buyers overcome the hurdles of high mortgage costs and larger deposits, but availability through the scheme is limited so would be purchasers do need to get in touch with us as soon as is possible.”

Hey Mount is situated within walking distance of Heywood town centre.

The location is ideal for those who enjoy the great outdoors, with the historic Queens Park located in the heart of the town, and Hopwood Clough Nature Reserve in Middleton just a short drive away. Heywood also enjoys some beautiful countryside with Ashworth and Roch valleys just on the doorstep, or for the golf lover Manchester, Springfield Park and Castle Hawk golf clubs are all within a 10 minute drive.

It is ideally located for commuters to Manchester, Bradford and Leeds, as well as those travelling further afield via Manchester’s Piccadilly train station. The development is located close to the M62 motorway, which connects to the M60 and M66 and in turn the M61, M56 and M6. A regular bus service also operates from Heywood into Manchester and its surrounding towns, including Bury, Oldham and Bolton.
