A "jolly good deal" is being offered by Barratt Homes at the moment.

The developer's West Midlands division gave details of its part-exchange scheme that is said to enable buyers to move in within weeks.

Affordable homes could be in reach of would-be movers this winter if they take advantage of the finance deal, which is available at the Westminster Place site on Alvechurch Road in Birmingham.

Lisa Thacker, sales manager for the company, said some of the benefits include avoiding payments for items such as home information packs and estate agent fees.

"Plus, because we are effectively a cash buyer, there is no waiting around for your home to sell or chances of a chain falling apart."

Some of the houses she went on to highlight are four-bedroom properties priced from £211,750. Ms Thacker added that if consumers started the process now, they could be moved in by Christmas.

Barratt Homes was established in 1958.
