McCarthy & Stone has this month revealed the name, and the first artist’s impression, for its exciting new retirement living development in Okehampton.

The new development will be called River’s Edge Court, aptly named due its location adjacent to the River Okement. The artist’s impression of River’s Edge Court illustrates how the development will look from Oaklands Drive.

River’s Edge Court will extend the town’s offering to the over 60s and will comprise 58 one and two bedroom retirement apartments.

Each apartment will comprise an open plan lounge and dining room, adjoining kitchen, one or two double bedrooms and a bathroom. Some properties will also benefit from a balcony.

Designed especially for retirement living, special features, such as 24 hour emergency Careline call points, electrical sockets at a raised height to reduce bending, illuminated light switches, a video entry system, easy grip lever taps in the bathroom and kitchen and energy efficient heating, will be incorporated into each of the apartments.

Residents at River’s Edge Court will also be able to enjoy beautiful gardens, socialise and relax in the communal lounge and invite family or friends to stay at the development’s guest suite.
