Property developer Banner Homes has moved a step closer to building a new development in Billericay.

The firm intends to construct 51 new homes on a strip of land formerly used as a farm by a local school.

Proposals for the project have been submitted to the local council and a decision will be reached in March.

If the scheme goes ahead, a range of properties with be built, ranging in size from two to five bedrooms and some of the homes will be three storeys high.

Billericay School says that if it is able to sell the land to Banner Homes, it will be able to fund a multi-million pound expansion, which would include the creation of a new sports centre.

Established over three decades ago, Banner Homes is an independent house building firm and it has properties on its books ranging from under £100,000 to over £4 million.
