Property seekers looking for a new home away from the hustle and bustle of the City but within easy distance of the capital may want to take a look at Milton Keynes.
The town is less than an hour away from London by train and offers house hunters the chance to snap up an affordable home.
As the largest town in the county of Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes has plenty to offer those looking for a home.
Constructed in the 1960s, the region is perfect for commuters as it was developed with the needs of modern-day workers in mind.
Equidistant from London, Birmingham, Cambridge, Oxford and Leicester, Milton Keynes benefits from all manner of transport links, making life easier for its residents.
Its location also means that even during the downturn, locals will have plenty of choice when it comes to employment, as several major cities are right on their doorstep.
Britons choosing to relocate to Milton Keynes will be joining the around 230,000 people already living in the town.
The development of Milton Keynes also took traffic into account, with the town's grid-like system designed to ease transport headaches associated with much of the rest of the UK at rush-hour times.
Popularity among people looking for homes in Milton Keynes has been proven recently, as last month the unveiling of a new Cala development was pushed forward due to demand.
At the time, Ruth Williams, area sales and marketing director for the Midlands, said: "We have been delighted with the number of off-plan sales, forcing us to bring forward phase four of the development for sale much sooner than we had initially expected."
Cala Homes is currently offering properties for would-be Milton Keynes residents, with a three-bedroom, semi-detached home on the market for £230,000, with part exchange options available.
Meanwhile, the firm is also offering a four-bedroom, semi-detached house in Broughton Gate for £255,000, with part-exchange also available on this property.
Other Cala deals in the region include £275,000 for a four-bedroom, detached Broughton Gate home, with several plots available.
