Balfour Beatty has secured a major contract to supply services to new homes.

The firm, which specialises in construction professional services and infrastructure investments, has been awarded two AMP 5 capital programme deals.

These contracts are worth around £60 million to the company and will see it work with United Utilities and Anglican Water.

The former has given Balfour Beatty a five-year AMP 5 contract worth around £50 million, while the latter has agreed an extension to the firm's current deal.

Ian Tyler, chief executive for Balfour Beatty, said that the company is "delighted" to have secured these contracts.

He commented: "We look forward to working closely with our customers and drawing on our skills and experience to deliver first-class customer service, excellent health and safety management and innovative ways of working."

Both contracts will begin in April 2010, Balfour Beatty has confirmed.
