A new study has suggested that the cost of new homes rose in the UK in November.
Figures released by Communities and Local Government revealed that the price of homes in the UK increased by 0.6 per cent during the month.
This is in comparison with November 2008 and was calculated using data based on mortgage completions.
Meanwhile, the statistics showed that seasonally-adjusted prices were 1.7 per cent higher in November 2009 than in October.
House prices rose by 3.5 per cent across the quarter to the end of November, compared to a rise of 2.6 per cent in the previous three months.
The figures also revealed that the average house price in the UK stood at £200,454 in November.
Elsewhere, the findings of a study carried out by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors this week showed that house prices increased at a slower pace in December than in previous months.
