Buyers have snapped up over half the properties on a new eco-friendly homes development in Epsom in Surrey.
The Elements development designed by award-winning homebuilder Crest Nicholson has sold over half of its 322 properties after launching only in September last year.
The company was ranked in the top two of the country's most environmentally-minded housebuilders last year, alongside the Berkeley Group.
The selection of two, three, and four bedroom houses on the site all incorporate the latest in energy-saving devices such as water butts, recycling bins and air source heat pumps.
According to the homebuilder, 20 per cent of energy will be generated from renewable sources on the development.
Savings can also be had on travel, as a bus route has been created for the development in order to reduce carbon emissions.
Properties also accord with the government's lifetimes homes standards criteria, in being adaptable for young families and old age. Owners will be easily able to accommodate wheelchairs, stair lifts and pushchairs into the specially-designed property.
