Ystrad Mynach, near Caerphilly, is one of the first places in the UK to host Redrow’s exciting New Heritage Collection – instantly recognisable housing designs which combine the best of old and new.

A range of 34 different homes, The New Heritage Collection is a premium housing product with more than a hint of nostalgia, influenced by the ‘Arts and Crafts’ era, but boasting a specification to meet the needs of modern lifestyles.

Two professionally designed show homes at Cwm Calon, Redrow’s popular development in Ystrad Mynach, are now officially open.

Luly Brice, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales), said: “We’ve received extremely positive feedback from visitors about our New Heritage Collection. Echoing our customer research, home hunters said they loved the traditional exteriors as they reminded them of the homes they grew up in.”

The homes from The New Heritage Collection have proved so popular that four of the properties at Cwm Calon were reserved even before the officially opening.

“The early success of the New Heritage Collection is testament to the high quality craftsmanship, attention to detail and pride, which have created quality homes in which to build a solid foundation for family life,” Luly commented.

“Most home buyers want a conventional two-storey home, preferably detached, with an easily accessible garage and a garden of their own. They want something that looks traditional, but with the latest statement-making kitchens, bathrooms and good quality fixtures and fittings.”

People who buy an older property can spend thousands of pounds and invest a lot of energy turning it into something that a new home already offers.

“Buying one of our new homes could save you a massive amount of time and money, as behind the traditional exteriors there’s a contemporary interior specification, featuring convivial open plan living spaces, fashionable kitchen designs with floor to ceiling units and central islands, plus bathrooms that are sleek and modern,” Luly added.

The ‘Windsor’ and ‘Oxford’ show homes are both four-bedroom properties, tastefully dressed by a team of professional designers from Intu Interiors.

The ‘Oxford’ has a soft and gentle colour palette, complemented by textural natural fabrics and solid wood furnishing. The lounge features hand painted floral wallpaper reminiscent of the Arts and Crafts movement.

The ‘Windsor’ has been treated to a more dramatic design. The soft, natural palette is enhanced with touches of taupe and flashes of red.

Situated on part of the former Penallta colliery site, Cwm Calon has been carefully planned to cater for residents’ every need, from a brand new road link to a new Welsh speaking primary school.

Homes in The New Heritage Collection are priced from £179,995 for a three-bedroom ‘Warwick’ housetype and £189,995 for a four-bedroom ‘Stratford’.

Buyers looking for a new home in Ystrad Mynach, should visit the New Heritage show homes at Cwm Calon, open daily from 10am to 5.30pm.
