Money-conscious movers in Corby and Kettering are finding they can save a packet on a brand new home, simply by turning their backs on town centre living.

By getting away from cramped conditions and the hustle and bustle of the busy centres, clued-up buyers are finding a higher quality of life in peaceful ‘out-of-town’ locations – and saving up to £64,000.

For example, George Wimpey’s Appleton Gate development in Great Oakley, on the edge of Corby, is close to miles of beautiful open countryside, yet enjoys everyday amenities on the doorstep.

But better still, whereas a typical four-bedroom home in Corby costs an average £211,000, customers choosing a brand new four-bedroom home at Appleton Gate will pay as little as £146,995 – an immediate £64,000 saving.

Meanwhile, at Taylor Wimpey’s South Wood development in the village of Little Stanion, just south of Corby, four-bedroom homes are available from only £164,995 – some £46,000 less than in the town.

And at The Copse at Mawsley Village, not far from Kettering, homebuyers can purchase a brand new four-bedroom home in a tranquil neighbourhood dotted with green open spaces from only £242,995, compared with a similar-sized second-hand home in Kettering for around £12,000 more.

Kelly French, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, says: “More and more people are taking the opportunity to work from home for at least part of the week, while enjoying a more laid-back and well-balanced way of living in delightful new homes away from our town centres.

“By moving out of town, clever buyers can secure a lot more home for their money!”
