Money-conscious movers in Derbyshire are finding they can save a packet on a brand new home, simply by turning their backs on city living.

By getting away from cramped conditions and the hustle and bustle of the busy centre, clued-up buyers are finding a higher quality of life in peaceful ‘out-of-town’ locations – and saving between £20,000 and £90,000.

For example, Taylor Wimpey’s Briar’s Chase development in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, is close to miles of beautiful open countryside, yet enjoys everyday amenities on the doorstep – and it’s very well placed for commuting to Derby or Nottingham.

But better still, whereas a typical three-bedroom home in urban Derby costs more than £150,000*, customers choosing a brand new three-bedroom home at Briar’s Chase will pay as little as £130,995 – an immediate £20,000 saving.

The saving is even greater for those seeking a four-bedroom home – prices at Briar’s Chase start from only £154,995 compared with an average £242,000* for a similar-sized property in Derby itself.

And at The Park, Taylor Wimpey’s new homes development in picturesque Leabrooks, near Alfreton, customers can purchase a brand new four-bedroom home from just £185,995 – also offering an amazing opportunity to save thousands of pounds while remaining within a 20-mile commute of both Derby and Nottingham.

Kelly French, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, says: “More and more people are taking the opportunity to work from home for at least part of the week, while enjoying a more laid-back and well-balanced way of living in delightful new homes away from our town centres.

“By moving out of town, clever buyers can secure a lot more home for their money!”
