First time buyers Rob Newton and Sarah Moore have jumped on to the property ladder, buying a four bedroom home at Taylor Wimpey Midlands’ Regency Square development in Burton-upon-Trent, thanks to the house builder’s Deposit Match scheme*.

The couple, who were living at their respective parent’s homes in Burton and Long Eaton, were keen to live together but didn’t want to rent, as Rob, 33, explained: “We wanted to pay off our own mortgage, rather than someone else’s. I was renting before I moved back to my parent’s home but I felt I was pouring money down the drain, as I had nothing to show for what I’d spent.

“When we were driving past Regency Square we decided to pop in and have a look at what was available. We immediately liked the look and layout of the homes plus there was something about the development that hooked us – it’s difficult to describe but it just seemed like a really welcoming place to live. Despite both living at home unfortunately the 10% deposit we’d saved still wasn’t enough which made us feel really disheartened, as we didn’t think we’d be able to afford to buy. Luckily Lisa at Regency Square did some sums and suggested using Taylor Wimpey’s Deposit Match scheme. This excellent initiative enabled us to get the mortgage we wanted as the house builder matched the deposit we put down.

“We still can’t quite believe we have been able to afford to get onto the property ladder so quickly and easily. In just one move we have gained independence from our parents and a fantastic four bedroom home – we thought it would take us years to get to this stage!”

Anne Wallace, regional sales and marketing director, said: “We’re delighted Rob and Sarah have been able to buy their dream home using our Deposit Match scheme. Boosting deposits through an interest free loan is a great way to increase the number of mortgage deals available to purchasers and to reduce monthly repayments. In addition, we have a range of other incentives available to help buyers move into their perfect home, from stamp duty and legal fees paid to special furniture packages.

“Our award-winning Regency Square development offers an excellent quality of life for residents, with a host of amenities on the doorstep and easy access to road and rail networks. If you’re keen to start a new life in this fantastic location, why not come and see this immaculate development for yourself?”

Those keen to find out more about the incentives available at Regency Square are invited to a special late night opening (until 7pm) on Thursday 25th March, giving prospective purchasers the chance to talk to the team whilst enjoying light refreshments.

In addition to boosting buyers’ budgets, Taylor Wimpey Midlands is also giving purchasers peace of mind through its excellent service. The team has achieved a 100% customer satisfaction rating and site manager Gareth Woodhouse has received a National Housebuilding Council’s (NHBC) Seal of Excellence Award.
