As Redrow’s popular development in Colchester nears completion, homebuyers have a last chance to buy a four-bedroom home in a stunning location overlooking open space.

The award-winning housebuilder has released six new homes, in a choice of three designs, each occupying a prime position on the sought-after development.

And to make a dream move a reality for even more homebuyers, Redrow has help available for first time buyers, those who may be struggling to find a mortgage or buyers with an existing property to sell.

For people looking to take their first step onto the property ladder whose family income is less £60,000, the Government-backed HomeBuy Direct scheme could mean home ownership is now a real possibility.

Eligible buyers could snap up one of the remaining properties for an initial outlay of just 70% of the asking price, thanks to an equity loan for up to 30% of the purchase price, which is interest-free for the first five years and jointly funded by Redrow and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

It means a four-bedroom Ribble could be purchased for an initial outlay of just £174,965 or a four-bedroom Ouse for only £185,465.

For people moving up the property ladder, part exchange will be considered if customers have an existing property to sell. It means Redrow will effectively act as a cash buyer, removing the possibility of becoming stuck in a housing chain.

Suzanne Irons, sales director for Redrow Homes (Eastern) said: “The Myle is already an established and flourishing community but we still have a number of superb family homes available, which have the added bonus of being situated overlooking an area of open space on the development.

“Properties such as the Ouse, the Ribble and the Thurn make great homes for all kinds of buyers, including young families needing a little more space. And, unlike second hand properties, they require no costly renovations or repairs so purchasers can enjoy their new home from the day they move in.”

Prices are from £249,950 for a Ribble, from £263,950 for a Thurn and from £264,950 for an Ouse. All three designs offer flexible and spacious living accommodation over three floors.

The Myle is within easy reach of Colchester town centre and also has convenient access to the A12, while rail links from Colchester North Station offer journey times to Ipswich of less than 20 minutes and to London Liverpool Street in around an hour.
