Total sales at Persimmon are 20% ahead of this time last year at around £1.15 billion, the company has announced. Sales volumes are about 11% ahead including a higher level of private sales and prices remain firm.

Persimmon also said, in a statement to the City prior to its AGM, that weekly visitors are constant and cancellation rates historically low. It confirmed it had opened 50 new sites in the first quarter as expected.
