A new McCarthy & Stone development in the Highland town of Pitlochry is coming soon and the company offered the challenge and honour of naming this development to the P7 pupils of Pitlochry High School. The winning name is Fishersview Court, and was created by Jamie Roberts and Chloe Robertson, both P6 pupils in the school. The children were chosen as winners as each of their entries were so closely matched that the judges agreed that both should be awarded as joint-winners. Each pupil wins a £50 book token and the school receives a generous donation of £250 as a thank-you for rising to the challenge.
Situated on Station Road, not far from the bustling town-centre of Pitlochry, and within easy reach of Pitlochry railway station, this latest development from McCarthy & Stone in Scotland will offer an impressive 39 apartments with a mix of 25 one bedroom and 14 two bedroom apartments.
With just a few months to go before this development officially opens, the children have taken their task very seriously as Claire Dunlop, marketing executive for McCarthy & Stone adds: “Our new development will very quickly become part of everyday life in Pitlochry, so we were keen to work with the local primary school to get a relevant development name that would be easily recognisable. This project is also an excellent way for the company to remind pupils that our Fishersview Court development will be an active construction site that will be ongoing for many months, and that it is not a play-ground.”
The children have enjoyed taking part in McCarthy & Stone’s challenge as Lorna Dobbins, Head Teacher for Pitlochry High School comments: “This was a really unusual challenge for the children to get involved in, and interestingly will be a lasting legacy in Pitlochry.
“I’m delighted to hear that both Jamie and Chloe’s work will be recognised as the main name of this development, but wish to thank all the pupils for their efforts as there were some great names to choose from. Of course we also hope the new residents who move to this new development will enjoy the local community of Pitlochry.”
This development is the first of its kind in Pitlochry and will benefit from the stunning scenery that provides such a spectacular location. Access from the A9 takes you conveniently south to Perth or Edinburgh, alternatively head north to Aviemore, Inverness and the rest of the magnificent Highlands. As a bustling Highland tourist town, Pitlochry enjoys a vast array of local attractions and amenities that will ensure you have everything you need at your finger tips.
It’s the perfect spot for outdoor enthusiasts with some of Scotland’s best walks, nature trails and wildlife literally on the doorstep. Fishing is also popular in this area, with the famous salmon ladder providing just one of the highlights on the popular walking route along the banks of the River Tummel. Whisky-lovers will enjoy visiting either The Blair Atholl Distillery in Pitlochry itself, or the Edradour distillery – Scotland’s smallest distillery that sits in the hills above the town.
For prospective buyers keen to be the first to see the range of apartments available, now is a great time to ensure your details are on the mailing list as Claire Dunlop, marketing executive for McCarthy & Stone adds:
“It seems our new development in Pitlochry has already inspired a few prospective customers to consider making Fishersview Court their retirement location. I’m keen to ensure that all interested customers register their details with us as soon as possible to allow us to keep them abreast of when we’re opening, prices and availability.”
