Crowds flocked to Ninian Park - the former Cardiff City football stadium - to see how the site has been transformed by award-winning developer Redrow Homes.

Redrow unveiled its new fully-furnished show home and a second property housing a ‘gallery’ of photographs and old artefacts found on the site during redevelopment.

The event proved to be a winner, attracting a combination of would-be home owners and Cardiff City fans keen to see how the site has been transformed.

After 99 years of hosting Cardiff City fixtures, the site of the old stadium, off Sloper Road, is now making way for a collection of 142 new homes.

Rachael Davies, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales) said: “People generally loved the show home, with many being particularly impressed with the big windows that create a bright and airy impression.

“Visitors also loved the quality of the bathrooms, kitchens and how much was included in the standard specification, especially all the kitchen appliances.

We took three firm reservations during the opening weekend, in addition to several that had already been taken ‘off plan’ before the show homes were ready. We now have eight firm sales as well as people interested in using part-exchange to purchase one of our homes.”

The development will feature a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes, with current availability including three-bedroom semi-detached houses from £189,995 and the Garton three-storey, three-bedroom townhouse from £199,995. Part exchange deals are also available to enable would-be buyers to secure a Redrow home without the stress of having to sell their existing home first.

Redrow’s four-bedroom ‘Fulbrook’ show home has been designed, decorated and furnished by interior design company Intu, with a neutral scheme of caramels, metallic fabrics and tones of bronze. The overall impression is a warm, inviting and family-orientated home with a just a small ‘nod’ to the site’s footballing history.

Ninian Park is conveniently located less than two miles from the city centre, with excellent transport links and a good range of schools in the immediate area.
