Homes from Redrow’s exciting New Heritage Collection go on sale in Devizes, Wiltshire, this weekend (26th June).

The award winning developer’s new venture, Willowbrook, off Horton Road, will feature a selection of three, four, five and six-bedroom homes.

These are homes that offer the best of both worlds - superbly equipped for modern family life, easy to maintain and efficient to run; yet displaying sought-after architectural features typical of the ‘Arts & Crafts’ era of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

“One of the most popular and enduring of British architectural styles, the Arts & Crafts influence can be seen in many of the so-called ‘character’ homes of later periods, especially the 1920s and 30s,” said Hannah Newnes, sales manager for Redrow Homes (South West).

“Features which typify the era include dropped eaves, projecting plinths, bays and other distinctive window styles, often with leaded lights, timber or tiled canopies over doors and windows, decorative gallows-style brackets and the use of larch lap boarding.”

Prior to launching the New Heritage Collection, Redrow undertook research among its customers, which showed that the majority wanted a conventional two-storey home, preferably detached, with its own garden and an easily accessible garage.

Hannah added: “They crave something that looks traditional, perhaps evocative of the family home they grew up in, but they want it to have modern interiors equipped to meet the demands of 21st century lifestyles.”

New Heritage Collection properties for sale at Willowbrook will be mostly three and four-bedroom detached homes, with some four-bedroom semis and a small number of five and six-bedroom detached designs. Prices will be announced during the launch weekend.

Bright, airy interiors will feature convivial open-plan living spaces, while kitchens will boast floor to ceiling cabinets and top brand-name appliances.

“Fully furnished show homes are due to open this autumn but would-be home owners can invest now ‘off-plan’ and get the pick of the plots at pre-show home prices,” said Hannah.

The on-site marketing suite will be open 10am to 5.30pm from Saturday, June 26th (closed Tuesday / Wednesday) with visitors able to view plans, images and samples of the high quality fixtures and fittings.

Redrow’s development is close to the shops, schools and services of Devizes, a historic market town at the heart of Wiltshire, which also offers good commuter access to Bath and Swindon.

The 118 properties to be built will include a significant proportion of affordable homes to meet local need. Redrow is also contributing to education and recreational facilities locally, highways improvements in the wider area and public transport as part of the planning agreement.
