Bovis has added 1,874 consented plots to its land bank in the first half of the year, representing about a year of land supply for the Group as it seeks to implement an acquisiton strategy in the short term. It now holds 13,113 consented plots, around seven years supply.

In a half year statement to the City, the firm described the market as challenging and said it remained cautious about future challenges.

However the firm returned a profit in the half year of £3.5 million, compared to a loss of £8.6 million in the same period last year. The Group completed 803 homes in the six months, of which 762 were private compared to 738 last year.
