Retirees in Worthing are being invited to join residents at McCarthy & Stone’s Assisted Living development Amelia Court for a traditional garden party, being held this month in support of the Royal British Legion.
On Saturday 11th September from 1.30pm – 4.30pm, McCarthy & Stone will be serving refreshments in the garden of the development and there will be live music from local swing band, The Gershwin Gang. The retirement specialist will also be running a raffle in aid of the Royal British Legion, its ‘Charity of the Year’.
Sharon Callcut, marketing manager for McCarthy & Stone, explains: “It may not have been quite the BBQ summer we were hoping for but our garden party will be a great way for visitors to experience the community atmosphere at Amelia Court, whilst raising much needed funds for our chosen charity. And, if the weather doesn’t favour us on the day, we’ll move the party indoors!
“Visitors will also have the opportunity to take a tour of the show apartments and communal areas, including the residents’ lounge and restaurant. Our expert sales team will also be on hand to answer any questions visitors may have about Assisted Living and the moving process. If you’d like to find out more about the lifestyle on offer, come along and join us!”
McCarthy & Stone has pledged to raise £30,000 for the Royal British Legion during the year from April 2010. The Legion, which is in its 90th anniversary year, is one of the UK’s leading military charities, providing financial, social and emotional support to service people past and present and their families.
