Taylor Wimpey has challenged students at Bryn Hafren Comprehensive School to get their thinking caps on and come up with a name for its new development being built on Pencoedtre Lane in Barry.

As well as being able to name Taylor Wimpey's latest site, the pupil who comes up with the winning suggestion will be invited to attend the official opening event, where they and the two runners up will be presented with their prizes. As a thank you to all the pupils at Bryn Hafren Comprehensive School for taking part, the housebuilder will also donate £200 to the school for new books and equipment.

Sara Taylor, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey, said: "We're very excited about our new development in Barry, which follows the success we've experienced at our nearby developments Lychgate Gardens in Radyr and Equinox in Cardiff. We would like to involve the community surrounding our new scheme from the very beginning and, with the development just down the road from Bryn Hafren Comprehensive School, who better to work with in naming it?"

Mr Whitcombe, head teacher at Bryn Hafren, said: "We are excited to be asked to come up with possible names for Taylor Wimpey's new development. It coincides perfectly with the Welsh studies of some of our Sixth Form students and will allow them to explore Barry's local history in the search of a suitable and memorable name for the development."

Once complete, the new development will consist of a stylish selection of two, three and four bedroom homes.
