London property hunters have been making the most of a new tool for home buyers enabling them to view footage of high specification apartments on the internet.

A film about the Lemonade Building, part of the multi award-winning Barking Central development, has quickly become the most watched clip on developer Redrow's very own broadband television channel, Redrow.TV.

Latest viewing figures put it top for the month from mid- December to mid- January, with over 1,500 viewers using it to take a sneak preview of the stylish one and two-bedroom apartments since it premiered on the website in October.

Tonia Tyler, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), said: "The Redrow.TV footage is the ideal way for the "internet generation" of homebuyers to view the high interior specification and layouts of these properties close up, including the contemporary kitchens and glossy bathrooms."

The video also highlights the fantastic views over the O2 arena and London skyline and includes details of the fantastic local amenities such as the 19 minute train journey to Fenchurch Street Station. The Lemonade Building is also close to the new Olympic Village, which will be transformed into housing after the 2012 London games.

"In our experience the internet is now the first port of call for many people searching for a new home, with a high proportion of searches now made specifically for video content," Tonia added.

"By giving prospective purchasers more to see, we hope it will further tempt them to come to Barking and see this fantastic development in person."

As well as featuring high specification fixtures and fittings, apartments at the Lemonade Building will have all of the advantages associated with being brand new - they are easy to maintain, energy efficient, kinder to the environment and protected by the NHBC 10-year 'Buildmark' warranty.

The Lemonade Building, a 17-storey block of 136 apartments, stands close to the spot where R-Whites Lemonade was once manufactured. It's also the final chapter of a hugely successful regeneration story.

The wider scheme, Barking Central, has created more than 500 residential apartments, as well as prime retail space, a new state of the art library and lifelong learning centre, a hotel and the unique feature of a specially created arboretum planted with 40 mature trees.

Only recently the development picked up its second prestigious 'Housing Design' award and a 'Building for Life' award.

Two-bedroom apartments enjoy the luxury of en-suite to master bedroom and all properties have a balcony for that all-important outdoor space. Prices start from £140,000 for a one-bedroom home and from £181,000 for a two-bedroom home.

Redrow will let purchasers put off paying 15% of the initial asking price on selected properties in The Lemonade Building, through its shared equity 'easi:buy' scheme.

They own 100% of their home from day one and have up to 10 years to find the balance; making home ownership cheaper and easier to achieve at this sought-after city location, without the need for such a large cash deposit.
