Nearly nine out of ten buyers of a new home would recommend their builder to a friend, according to the Home Builders Federation's latest customer satisfaction survey released today at the HBF's Policy conference in London.

The independent survey finds that 88% of buyers are very or fairly satisfied with the overall quality of their new home. The HBF says these results match or exceed those in any other industry or sector.

"These results are truly outstanding and a testament to the efforts made by our industry to deliver ever increasing satisfaction to new home buyers," said HBF executive chairman Stewart Baseley.

Imtiaz Farookhi, ceo of NHBC which supports the survey, said: "I am delighted that the significant improvements achieved last year have been maintained."
