Visitors to a McCarthy & Stone retirement development in Chester could be in for more than a tea time treat if they pop into Forest Court, on Union Street, Chester, for a quick cuppa.

From 2.00pm on the last Thursday of every month, the UK’s largest retirement specialist will open the doors to its Forest Court development and extend an open invite to the residents of Chester for a special afternoon tea. However, between now and the end of May, a nice brew is not the only thing on Forest Court’s menu.

After soaking up the fantastic atmosphere of the residents’ lounge while enjoying a cup of tea and slice of cake, all visitors who attend the events will be offered the opportunity to enter a free-prize draw with the chance of winning a plush Afternoon Tea worth over £40 at the historic Chester Grosvenor Hotel.

Fiona Brooks, Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy & Stone Northern, commented: "We understand that the decision to move in later life is often a difficult one so our afternoon teas are simply an informal way of letting potential purchasers along with their families and friends, experience first-hand the relaxed sense of community and vibrant social scene we have here at Forest Court.

“We place great importance on building communities as well as homes, and this is a superb way of putting people at ease and showing them how easy it could be to make that move. We are on hand to provide tours of our show complex, and help answer any questions you or your family might have about the many benefits retirement living offers. Plus, whether you’re the one looking to buy or just a caring companion, you never know, you could well be the lucky person who walks away with our extra special treat!”

The winner of the prize draw will be selected at random during afternoon tea on Thursday 26th May. Visitors who enter are encouraged to come along to Forest Court on the day and find out who the winner of this amazing prize might be.

For those who can’t attend any of the forthcoming afternoon teas, the competition will still be open to visitors of the development’s delightful show complex before 3pm on the day of the draw.

Ideally situated less than 150 yards from one of Chester's main thoroughfares, Forest Court consists of 53 one and two bedroom retirement homes, which enjoy stunning views of both Grosvenor Park and the historic city centre.

Forest Court has been designed for active retired people seeking a secure and manageable home in their retirement without losing their independence. Each self-contained apartment is linked to a 24-hour personal emergency call service and a closed-circuit TV system so residents can check who is calling at the main entrance.

The development has an elegantly furnished central lounge for social events, a guest suite where friends and family can stay overnight and a laundry room. General maintenance is overseen by the resident House Manager, who is also a good neighbour to all.

Apartments at Forest Court are priced from £162,950. For further information about the apartments and lifestyle on offer, please visit the show complex, open Tuesday to Saturday from 10.30am to 5.00pm.
