Linden Homes is proud to announce its sponsorship of the annual Colchester Gangshow, to be held from 18th - 21st May 2011. For four consecutive nights and a matinee performance, the scouts will ditch their uniforms and woggles and take to the stage in costume at Colchester's Mercury Theatre.

The Gangshow, which was first held in Colchester in 1938 and is now in its 42nd consecutive year, will bring together Scouts from groups across the Colchester area as well as a number of Girl Guide and Brownie groups for a night of dance routines, musical numbers and comedy sketches. The performances will be the culmination of seven months of planning, preparation and hard work by the 'Gang', some of whom will earn their Entertainers badges at the event.

Roseanne Bullen, Sales and Marketing Manager for Linden Homes Eastern, comments:

"We take great pride in supporting local schools and organisations that have a really positive impact on community life. The Gangshow is sure to be a great event, and we can't wait to see months of preparation and rehearsals come together at the performances in May as the 'Gang' see all their hard work and commitment rewarded."

Steve Birkin, Chairman of the Colchester Gangshow committee, comments:

"The Gangshow is one of the highlights of the year for those involved in the performances. However, none of this could take place without the generosity of our sponsors and so we are really grateful to Linden Homes for stepping in to support the show this year."

Linden Homes's involvement with the Gangshow is the latest in the series of community initiatives from the housebuilder to benefit young people in Colchester. The developer has helped raise funds for North Primary School and sponsored the paper supply for Queen Boudica Primary School, both of which border its popular Northfields development on Turner Road. Linden Homes has also led assemblies to teach children the importance of health and safety near construction sites and invited children to visit Northfields as part of a school project on Building and Construction.
