Make a fresh start in a brand new home in Kilwinning and put your own stamp on it from day one.

Redrow's Whitehirst Grange development in the Ayrshire town is the ideal choice for anyone who's ever dreamt of being the first person to eat, sleep and bathe in a property. And with three and four-bedroom homes available, it's great for families who are ready to make their next step on the property ladder.

Mary McHutchison, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Scotland), commented: "There's something special about being the first people to live in a property. Buying a brand new home means you won't wonder about the lifestyles of the previous occupants or inherit their decor. Instead you can personalise it to your own taste from day one, choosing everything from the kitchen cupboards and bathroom tiles, even the light switches."

Whitehirst Grange includes designs from Redrow's New Heritage Collection of traditional looking homes with modern interiors styled with 21st century family living in mind.

Prices start from £145,000 for a three-bedroom 'Brodick' style home. French doors leading from the open plan kitchen-diner to the garden flood the room with natural light and help bring the outside inside. The property also enjoys the convenience of a downstairs cloakroom and separate utility, plus built-in wardrobe to the master bedroom.

Redrow has calculated that it can cost around £30,000 to bring an older three-bedroom property up to the same high standard of one of its stylish new homes.

"Savvy buyers understand that while an older property may come with a smaller price tag, it may need lots of repairs and renovations. The cost of installing a new kitchen, appliances and bathrooms plus energy efficient heating, replacement windows and a whole host of other features soon adds up. By purchasing a new home instead of an older second hand property, house hunters could save themselves a small fortune in DIY costs, not to mention time and energy," Mary explained.

"Our kitchens boast the convenience of integrated top brand name appliances with tall units and extra wide drawers that offer plenty of storage. If you were to install the same high quality fixtures, fittings and appliances yourself it would cost more than £6,000, plus you would have the inconvenience of not being able to use your kitchen while the work is carried out."

Whitehirst Grange is perfectly placed as it enjoys a beautiful countryside setting yet is also close to the coast and benefits from strong transport links. Glasgow can be reached by train in around 30 minutes.

To experience what life would be like at Whitehirst Grange, visit the show home and sales office, open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5.30pm.
