The attraction of neighbours, good community spirit and a safe environment first drew Gillian Clouter to Taylor Wimpey's Lychgate Gardens in Radyr, closely followed by the fact her son lived on the same development.
Gillian said: "I first came to look at Lychgate Gardens two years ago when I helped my son Marytn by a three bedroom Gosforth house with his girlfriend, Amy. Like them, I fell in love with the estate from day one and the more I saw of it the more I wanted to move here. I was living in Miskin and while it was a lovely place I felt very isolated, so I wanted to live somewhere that felt safe and had people around."
Four months ago Gillian moved in to a five bedroom, three storey Kerscott at Lychgate Gardens and hasn't looked back.
She continued: "The development is fantastic. There's a lovely mix of people both young couples and families and more mature people, like me. There's a fantastic atmosphere and a great community spirit is developing. At the moment we're all busy getting our gardens done and decking installed, but I'm pretty sure that in the summer we'll be having BBQ's in each other's gardens."
Coinciding with his Mum's itchy feet at the end of 2010, Martyn and Amy also decided to move, however they wanted to stay on Lychgate Gardens and upsize to a larger property.
Martyn commented: "We absolutely love the development. We have two dogs and in just a couple of minutes we can be out of the estate and into fields to give the dogs a good a run around. We have beautiful scenery around us, yet we can be on the M4 in no time at all - perfect for commuting to work or for shopping in Cardiff.
"With the dogs and thinking about the future and starting a family one day, we thought we'd look at some larger properties on the development. Using Taylor Wimpey's Part Exchange scheme we exchanged the Gosforth for a four bedroom Fernlea house. We move in at the end of June and can't wait.
"We don't think we'll ever move off Lychgate Gardens - it will be a fantastic place to raise a family and of course my Mum is on hand for dog-walking duties! Plus, if we outgrow the Fernlea there's the Kerscott to upsize to, so a house suitable for all our life stages."
Mother and Son have both had fantastic buying experiences too. Gillian concluded: "Taylor Wimpey could not have been more helpful. The sales and site staff have been absolutely brilliant and purchasing all three houses has been a smooth and stress-free process every time."
