The UK's largest retirement specialist, McCarthy & Stone, celebrated the 90th anniversary of The Royal British Legion at the Tythe Court development in Romford at the weekend.
Residents and staff at the Retirement Living development on White Hart Lane were joined by veterans from the Romford branch of The Royal British Legion as they enjoyed 90 intricately decorated cakes poppy cakes specially created by local cake maker, Fondant Folie.
Sharon Callcut, regional marketing manager for McCarthy & Stone said: "The Royal British Legion is our chosen charity this year, plus as many of our residents have links to the armed forces so it only felt right to be celebrating the 90th Anniversary in this way.
"It was a real pleasure to welcome so many new visitors who not only wanted to join in the celebrations, but find out more about the community we have built here."
The Royal British Legion is McCarthy & Stone's 'Charity of the Year' for 2010/2011.
