Taylor Wimpey is extending its support for the local community by sponsoring a football team, in association with The Boulevard, The Chesterfields and Woodland View, its popular developments of property for sale in Coventry.
A junior football team in Coventry will kick off the new season in style after striking a sponsorship deal with Taylor Wimpey West Midlands.
The leading local housebuilder, which is currently building three development of apartments and houses for sale in Coventry, has donated a full set of kit and tracksuits to Coventrians Colts U9s side, who compete in the John Bryan Coventry Minor Football League.
As a result, the players will be the first from the club, which has almost 200 youngsters on its books, to jog out in Coventrians' new-look strip.
Jane Connolly, secretary of the Holbrooks-based club, says: "We were formed in 2007 based at Coventrians Rugby Football Club, and so we felt it fitting to play in blue and white quartered shirts to reflect the rugby club kits.
"But, the manufacturer stopped making the kits and we found that the design was very expensive to order elsewhere. So, we needed some more traditional, cost-effective shirts, and it was agreed we would go for blue and white stripes.
"We are expanding to 15 teams for the 2011-12 season, so to kit out everybody in new strips would be beyond our means, particularly as we deliberately keep subs low to keep things manageable for parents of the players.
"So, to have such a generous donation from Taylor Wimpey is a massive help and we are incredibly grateful for the sponsorship."
