A national cancer charity has been given a welcome boost thanks to leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey South Wales.

Taylor Wimpey gave Breast Cancer Care the exclusive use of the Mappleton showhome at its Lychgate Gardens development in Radyr, Cardiff, for the charity's annual photoshoot.

In addition Taylor Wimpey South Wales has made a donation of £1,000 to the deserving charity.

Kimberley Pryor, digital assistant at Breast Cancer Care, who oversaw the photoshoot, was extremely grateful to Taylor Wimpey for donating one of the showhomes for the day.

She said: "The day was a huge success. The staff at Taylor Wimpey showed unwavering hospitality - so thank you to everyone involved. In addition to this in-kind support, Taylor Wimpey also made a donation of £1,000 towards our funds, which is an incredible amount and very much appreciated.

"Breast Cancer Care, provides help for anyone affected by breast cancer. The charity brings people together, provides information and support, and campaigns for improved standards of care. We also use our understanding of people's experience of breast cancer and our own clinical expertise in everything we do.

"Taylor Wimpey's support is very important to us as we rely on the generosity of our supporters to ensure that our services remain free to use and widely available."

Sara Taylor, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey South Wales, said: "We were delighted to help out when Breast Cancer Care said they needed somewhere to carry out their latest photoshoot.

"Breast cancer affects so many people's lives and we were only too pleased to make the showhome available at Lychgate Gardens, as well as make our own donation to the charity."

Lychgate Gardens comprises a collection of two bedroom coach houses and 3, 4 and 5 bedroom new homes and is situated in a picturesque rural location boasting stunning views and benefitting from easy access to Cardiff city centre.

Commuters are well served at the development, with Junction 32 of the M4 just over one mile away and Cardiff International Airport accessible in only 30 minutes.
