Plans to build 1,000 new homes in Preston are set to go ahead after the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) hosted a number of consultations with the local community.
The latest sessions saw more than 100 people attend to review the new masterplan for Cottam Hall, while partners including Preston City Council and Lancashire County Council indicated their support for the proposals.
Revisions made as a result of suggestions include better green links and cycle ways to Miller Green, new space for a community facility and ensuring that 30 per cent of the new developments are
affordable homes.
"Through this valuable feedback, we now have a great masterplan for Cottam Hall that will help the area evolve into a high-quality environment for local people," said Deborah McLaughlin, executive director for the north-west at the HCA.
Recently, Longridge Town Council suggested that a single large development of new homes within the Ribble Valley would be better for the local area than several smaller ones, the Longridge News reports.
