By offering £100 towards the cost of living, every month for the rest of your life, the annuity incentive provided by retirement specialist, McCarthy & Stone, can make all the difference to those struggling to manage on a pension.

One McCarthy & Stone resident who is benefitting from the scheme is 88 year old Mr De Wit, who signed up for annuity when he moved to the Reeves Court development in Camberley earlier this year.

"I wanted to make the move so that I could stop worrying. I was worrying about the garden, the bills, the decorating - everything!" commented Mr De Wit. "Moving to Reeves Court took that worry away and now my home is far more manageable and a much happier place to be. I get to meet new people who are in a similar situation, which is important when you're on your own. Plus, my granddaughter lives nearby so I get to see her at least once a week.

"My grandchildren are very important to me, and are part of the reason I chose to take the annuity option. Having three grandchildren, I really wanted to be able to save some money towards their futures, but it's not always that easy when there are other costs to consider. The £100 nearly covers the cost of my weekly grocery bills, and gives me some breathing space to treat myself to the occasional meal out or new gadget. It may not sound like much, but it makes such a difference, and has allowed me the opportunity to do my bit to help my family."

The annuity guarantees that residents receive £100 a month gross* for the rest of their life, paid directly into a nominated bank or savings account each and every month. In the case of couples, purchasers can choose in whose name the annuity is purchased.

Technology savvy Mr De Wit, was recently able to purchase himself an iPad with his savings, which he now uses to check the £100 has gone into his bank account.

He added: "It's nice to have a little luxury in retirement. After all the years spent working, it's good to enjoy the rewards that retirement can offer. Living at Reeves Court has certainly helped me to achieve that kind of freedom, and I am delighted I chose to make the move."

All McCarthy & Stone retirement developments are designed to provide those over 60 with a secure and low-maintenance environment, in which to make the most of an active and independent lifestyle.

Located on Frimley Road, Reeves Court offers 34 stylish retirement apartments conveniently situated less than half a mile from Camberley's bustling and vibrant town centre.

Alongside specialist features such as 24-hour emergency call points and a secure video entry system for added peace of mind, residents at Reeves Court can also benefit from meeting and socialising with others in the relaxing communal lounge.

For more information about annuity or the properties still available at Reeves Court, please visit the show complex, open Tuesday to Saturday, 10.30am until 5pm.
