It was a family affair for retirement specialist, McCarthy & Stone, as Grandparents and their grandchildren from throughout Surrey gathered together at its developments to help raise money for the developer's chosen charity of the year, Barnardo's.
During the special 'Grandparents' Day' celebrations, Dial Stone Court in Weybridge, Reeves Court in Camberley, Benedict Court in Newbury and Lewis Court in Redhill, each welcomed visitors from across the generations, donating £2 to Barnardo's for every child who accompanied their grandparents on a tour of the delightful show apartment.
Plus, to say thank you for helping this very worthy cause, McCarthy & Stone also gifted all visitors over 60 with a locally sourced orchid as a memento of the day.
Sharon Callcut, regional marketing manager for McCarthy & Stone, commented: "We know that the decision to move into a retirement development is often a family one. Our Grandparents Day offered an opportunity to celebrate the special bond between children and their grandparents, and enabled them to join together to help aid a very worthy cause."
Through its charity partnership, throughout the next 12 months McCarthy & Stone aims to raise £50,000 for Barnardo's, the UK's leading children's charity. Funds raised by McCarthy & Stone in Surrey will go towards funding a number of much needed schemes for disadvantaged children in the region.
Each McCarthy & Stone Retirement Living development comprises of a stylish selection of one and two bedroom apartments in convenient locations.
All of the available properties' low maintenance design is ideal for anyone looking for a more manageable home that offers continued independence in later life.
