Retirees at Cherrett Court in Ferndown are holding a special Pampered Chef event on Wednesday 7th December at 2.30pm, to raise money for Barnardo's, the UK's leading children's charity.
Residents at the McCarthy & Stone Retirement Living development are inviting the public to come along and sample tasty afternoon treats, receive expert tuition and try out the latest culinary gadgetry. The £2 entrance fee and 15 per cent of sales from the event will go to McCarthy & Stone's charity partner, Barnardo's.
Aileen King, sales and marketing director for McCarthy & Stone South West, comments: "The event is a fun afternoon out and it's a great opportunity to come and sample some top quality food, learn some useful cooking tips and experience our sense of community first-hand, plus it's all for a good cause."
Cherrett Court comprises 46 one and two bedroom Assisted Living apartments designed exclusively for anyone over the age of 70 requiring assistance with daily life. In addition to retaining home ownership, residents can benefit from an on-site restaurant, domestic assistance, personal care by arrangement, a communal lounge, hotel-style guest suite and landscaped gardens.
There is also a 24 hour emergency call system provided via a personal pendant, an estate's manager who oversees the running of the development and staff who are on site 24 hours a day for added peace of mind.
