Apartments at McCarthy & Stone's first Assisted Living development in the North East are selling-fast, despite the fact that the building is not yet complete.
Henderson Court, which is currently under construction on North Road in Ponteland, launched to more than 200 interested retirees at the Britannia Newcastle Airport Hotel earlier this year, and has since received off-plan reservations for 25 of the 59 independent retirement apartments at the development.
Fiona Brooks, Regional Sales & Marketing Director for McCarthy & Stone, commented: "The success we've experienced since unveiling our plans for Henderson Court clearly signals a strong demand for this kind of specialist retirement housing provision in the North East.
"Designed specifically to bridge the gap between conventional retirement developments and residential care, Assisted Living offers a real alternative for retirees who want to maintain their independence but with the added peace of mind and sense of security that always having a helping hand nearby can offer.
"Henderson Court is being built with the differing needs of an aging population in mind, and will ultimately provide low-maintenance lifestyles tailored to suit the changing needs of those who live there. We have been absolutely delighted that so many people have recognised these benefits and have subsequently started planning for a brighter future at Henderson Court. We would urge anyone else interested in finding out more about the lifestyles on offer to contact our sales team soon to avoid disappointment."
Available exclusively for those over the age of 70, Henderson Court will offer a range of one and two bedroom private apartments complete with communal facilities and support services for residents when they need them, either now or in the future; all in a safe and secure environment that offers continued independence in a property they still own.
A key benefit of Assisted Living is the on-site waitress service restaurant, which for a small cost offers a freshly prepared, hot meal at lunchtime 365 days of the year, should the resident wish not to cook in their own fully-equipped kitchen. Plus, for those who are unable to make it down to the restaurant due to illness, meals can be brought to their apartment. Friends and family are also welcome to join residents should they wish.
One hour of domestic assistance per week is automatically provided to residents as part of the service charge but additional assistance can be purchased should it be required, on either a short or a longer term basis. Washing, ironing, shopping and other day to day chores can all be done on the residents behalf if required, leaving more time to enjoy their new found independence.
McCarthy & Stone's success at Henderson Court follows that at Robert Adam Court, a Retirement Living development in nearby Alnwick, which this year became the best selling site amongst the retirement specialist's entire UK portfolio of more than 150.
