Barratt has shown its support of the conservation of Pan Country Park in Newport by picking up a silver spade and pitching in with a hedge planting project at the popular wildlife park.
The leading home builder was on hand to help Natural Enterprise plant a number of fruiting hedge species, just a short distance away from the Barratt development, Pan Meadows.
Natural Enterprise supports community wildlife projects and environmental research on the Isle of Wight and kindly received the hedgerows as a donation from the national Tree Council which promotes planting and conversation of trees and woods.
Barratt technical director James Dunne said, "The Country Parks at Pan Meadows provide a valuable link for existing and new residents to the surrounding countryside. The new hedgerows will enhance biodiversity and help to sustain the environment. We are delighted to be involved with the planting of this hedgerow in the first of three country park areas.
Pan Meadows is located close by to the Country Park. The eco-friendly development boasts an impressive selection of one, two and three bedroom energy efficient homes."
