Retirement Properties Given the Go Ahead in Wellesbourne

Planning permission has been granted for a new retirement development in Wellesbourne. McCarthy & Stone, the UK's market leader in retirement living, has been given the go ahead to build an attractive collection of 21 apartments exclusively for those aged 60 and over.

The one and two bedroom properties and communal facilities will be situated on Stratford Road, which is just a short distance from Wellesbourne's local shops.

Each property will benefit from a low maintenance design ideal for anyone looking for a more manageable home that offers continued independence in later life. The light and airy open lounge and dining room will adjoin a well appointed kitchen comprising modern fitted units, a built in oven and hob plus a fridge freezer.

The double bedroom will include fitted wardrobes, a telephone point and TV aerial socket for added convenience and the modern bathroom will benefit from easy grip lever taps, a built in vanity unit and a heated towel rail. And for added security, each apartment will have 24 hour emergency call points, a video entry system and double glazing throughout.

Residents will also enjoy landscaped gardens that are regularly maintained by an external company, socialise and relax in the communal lounge and invite family or friends to stay at the development's hotel style guest suite. There will also be a house manager to oversee the running of the development, for additional peace of mind.

Sue Blackman, regional sales and marketing director, comments: "We're thrilled to be adding to our property portfolio in Warwickshire and introducing the McCarthy & Stone lifestyle to Wellesbourne. As specialists in this area, we understand what our customers want from their retirement. What we offer is the chance to retain their independence whilst having the peace of mind of additional security, low maintenance and companionship.

"Furthermore, we can offer practical and financial help with the sale of an existing property, liaising with solicitors on the purchaser's behalf and providing a full decluttering, packing and removals service. We will also ensure one of our professional advisors is on hand on the day of the move to guarantee everything goes smoothly."

McCarthy & Stone already has a number of Retirement Living developments across Warwickshire, including Hathaway Court in Stratford- Upon- Avon and Pardoe Court in Studley.

The first occupants for this development will be expected in Autumn 2012.
