David Wilson Homes is celebrating the arrival of a new era in the construction of its development on the Isle of Wight.

The housebuilder is about to start work on steel-framed houses at Victoria Walk in East Cowes. And the results are expected to herald some of the best and most energy-efficient homes ever seen at any David Wilson Homes development in the south.

"We are tremendously excited and enthusiastic about these new homes," said David Wilson Homes managing director Ian Wallace. "Steel-framed buildings are highly durable - offering an impressive strength-to-weight ratio. But they also offer our innovative designers wonderful flexibility.

"These new homes will display all the quality and style our buyers expect from us. They will also allow us the opportunity to achieve and surpass level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes - something we now strive for at all our new developments.

The department for Communities and Local Government launched the Code for Sustainable Homes in England during 2007 - paving the way for a national standard for the design and construction of new homes.

"This Code is entirely voluntary and is intended to help promote even higher standards of sustainable design," added Ian. "We are judged against a range of criteria, rating each of our homes as a complete package. Achieving Level 4 and above represents a significant challenge - but one that we know we can achieve here at Victoria Walk."

With a selection of stylish one, two, three and four bedroom homes, the development offers something for everyone and is already generating a high level of interest among buyers wishing to settle in the picturesque area.

"We think very carefully when choosing the locations of our new developments. And we have clearly got it right here," said Ian. "This delightful town is close to the sea and offers a variety of shops and local amenities. And there is the bonus of a floating bridge to take people across to its famous neighbour - Cowes - whenever the mood takes them."

Current availability at Victoria Walk includes the two bedroom Abbotsford house, from £174,999. And the three bedroom Sovereign, Sandringham, Jubilee and Mountbatten homes are priced from £219,999, £229,999, £237,999 and £219,999 respectively.

"As well as being part of our new generation of developments, Victoria Walk offers an enviable coastal lifestyle to everyone from first time buyers to growing families," said Ian.

For further details of availability at Victoria Walk, call the sales office, open daily from 10am to 5pm.
