The air ambulance has received a generous donation from Taylor Wimpey, which has developments of new homes for sale in Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire.
The leading local home builder, which has its East Midlands headquarters at The Osiers Business Park in Leicester, donated £6,000 to the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) on Monday 23rd April.
Just over £735 was raised by the company's annual fishing match with the National House Building Council (NHBC) and other service providers which was held last summer.
The fund was then swelled by £4,700 raised through a raffle and by donations at Taylor Wimpey East Midlands' annual site managers' supper, held in December at the Hilton Hotel, Derby.
The function was attended by the developer's site management staff, commercial managers, sub-contractors and suppliers.
Taylor Wimpey East Midlands then rounded up the £5,445 funds to a magnificent total of £6,000 for the charity.
Dominic Harman, Managing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, says: "We are delighted to have raised so much money for the air ambulance, which provides a vital local service for people across the East Midlands.
"We selected the charity for the donation after Mike Betteridge one of our site managers, who has since retired from us, donated to the air ambulance his bonus that he received for winning an NHBC Pride in the Job Award.
"To raise £6,000 was a wonderful achievement, and we would like to thank all of our staff, sub-contractors and suppliers who took part in the fishing match and who gave so generously at the supper."
