A football team sponsored by leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey East Anglia battled it out in a tournament in Suffolk on Sunday 10th June.

The event was held at Moreton Hall Community Centre, near Taylor Wimpey's sought-after St Edmunds Gate development of new homes for sale in Bury St Edmunds.

Seven teams took part in the competition and Taylor Wimpey East Anglia Planning and Technical Director Mark Edmonds handed out the trophies at the prize-giving ceremony afterwards.

Mark says: "We believe that every single home we build is part of a community, and we are committed to ensuring that our exciting development at St Edmunds Gate does much more than just provide high-quality properties in Bury St Edmunds for local people.

"That's why we're delighted to be supporting our local football teams and further strengthening our links with local residents.

"The success of Sunday's football tournament demonstrates the fantastic community spirit which exists in this popular part of Bury St Edmunds and which is already being appreciated by the new residents at St Edmunds Gate."

Rob Gibson, Coach for the Sebert Wood School year three football team says: "We're very grateful to Taylor Wimpey for sponsoring our team - their support makes a huge difference to our club including allowing us to put on events such as this for the local community and also purchase new training equipment and kit."

St Edmunds Gate is a development of apartments and houses in Bury St Edmunds that enjoys the best of both town and country. Located within easy reach of the stunning Suffolk countryside, which offers mile upon mile of cycleways and footpaths to explore, it is also close to Bury St Edmunds town centre, with its traditional market and peaceful cathedral gardens, along with the new Arc retail and leisure quarter featuring a flagship Debenhams department store and 35 big-name shops and restaurants.

Closer still, a small supermarket, convenience store, post office, pub and restaurant are within half a mile of the new homes.

St Edmunds Gate Sales Information Centre is located off Primack Road, Bury St Edmunds, and open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm, and Mondays from 1.30pm to 5pm.
