House prices in London are continuing to rise, with the areas near to where the Olympics is taking place seeing the greatest increase.

Research conducted by Lloyds TSB has found that homes near to Stratford have increased in value by almost £70,000 since London was announced as the host of the Games in July 2005.

The average house price across the 14 postal districts closest to Stratford stood at £273,157 in March 2012, an increase of 33 per cent from the average of £206,145 in July 2005.

Three of the 14 postal districts closest to the Olympic Park, Homerton, Dalston and Shoreditch, have recorded price rises of over £100,000 since July 2005.
