Over 60s living in Berkshire and looking to downsize can now take advantage of a new scheme available at McCarthy & Stone's Later Living developments across the region and ensure they enjoy a hassle-free move this summer.
The new initiative*, which is available to those buying selected apartments at the Benedict Court development in Newbury, and Crayshaw Court in Caversham, aims to sell the purchaser's existing home at a pre-agreed price within 12 weeks and covers many of the costs associated with the sale. If a realistic offer is made below the guaranteed selling price, McCarthy & Stone will simply make up the difference, enabling the sale to proceed. The scheme could also save sellers thousands of pounds, as McCarthy & Stone will pay the estate agent and solicitor fees and will even help with the move.
Sharron Callcut, regional marketing manager for McCarthy & Stone, comments: "Selling your home in the current market can be an expensive and time-consuming process and there's no guarantee that you'll get the offer you need. With our new initiative, we will help every step of the way, marketing your existing home, free of charge, through an independent estate agent and actively monitoring the sale to ensure everything runs smoothly. It's the kind of peace of mind that you simply can't get when you sell your property in the usual way."
Each McCarthy & Stone development comprises of a selection of stylish one and two bedroom apartments set in a convenient location. Residents are able to enjoy landscaped gardens that are regularly maintained by an external company, socialise and relax in the communal lounge and invite family or friends to stay at the development's hotel style guest suite.
Later Living properties at Newbury and Caversham provide a low maintenance design that is ideal for anyone looking for a more manageable home that offers continued independence in later life. The light and airy open lounge and dining room adjoins a well appointed kitchen comprising modern fitted units, a built in oven and hob plus a fridge freezer.
